Artificial Intelligence

Concentration in Artificial Intelligence

With the concentration in artificial intelligence, students will develop skills in today’s most relevant area of computing – machines that mimic cognitive functions, such as learning, problem-solving, pattern recognition, and language understanding. Students will work with machine learning algorithms and datasets to train computers to analyze data and make predictions about the world.

Program Goals

  • Demonstrate a fundamental understanding of topics in computing systems such as programming language paradigms, operating systems, computer networks, and high-performance computing.
  • Perform effectively as a team leader as well as a member, by actively participating in the team, completing assigned tasks on schedule and working toward a common goal.
  • Apply critical thinking skills by analyzing facts using appropriate methodologies to relate the issue to the known body of knowledge and drawing sound conclusions.
  • Apply knowledge and skills to successfully design, develop or enhance, and implement shareable projects that advance computer science in applied areas.
